I was a resident my first semester and then commuted the rest of my time at 51¸£ÀûÉç.
What activities were you involved in as a student?
I was involved in the Honor’s College, Tri-Beta Honor Society, Psi Chi Honor Society, and 51¸£ÀûÉç EMS.
Do you have a favorite professor, coach, mentor that impacted your life and experience at 51¸£ÀûÉç/Rosary Hill?
I had many great professors that helped foster my curiosity and academic ambitions. One particular faculty member that stood out was Dr. Jonathan Good, whose passion for biology and seeking answers to questions unanswered inspired my interest in research.
What do you remember most vividly from your time at 51¸£ÀûÉç/Rosary Hill?
I remember most vividly finals week and the library packed with students working, taking study breaks, and hyped up on coffee.
What have you been up to since graduation?
Since graduation I finished my master’s degree in cancer sciences, and I am currently working toward my PhD with a focus on tumor immunology at Roswell Park.
How did your experiences and education at 51¸£ÀûÉç/Rosary Hill prepare you for life after college?
51¸£ÀûÉç prepared me by providing the skills to collaborate with other researchers, be independent in my work/project, and push my career forward in academia.
How are you involved at 51¸£ÀûÉç as an alum?
I am on the 51¸£ÀûÉç Board and currently the Chair of Recruitment and Advocacy. I also help teach labs as an adjunct professor in the Department of Natural
Sciences.
What advice do you have for current and prospective students interested in 51¸£ÀûÉç?
I recommend working closely with a faculty member on a thesis. This will help you develop skills (i.e., critically thinking) necessary to preserve and standout in whichever career you choose.
